Lizzy > When the sun shines...the colors do too.
Lizzy > Good Old Virginia Creeper turning red
Lizzy > a close up...no two sections of the same vine are the same color at the same time.
Lizzy > Just 3 feet lower than the one above....and see the difference in leaf color and patterns?
Lizzy > Now look up - this time of year, you can almost see the leaves changing colors and then suddenly you walk outside and the trees are naked...
Lizzy > This is Smooth Sumac - and as you can see, we have a lot of it.
Lizzy > O.K. - for years I have said that there is no red color in Nebraska...well check this out! Red Sumac, Yellow Ash, turning yellow cottonwood, Blue Spruce and for some good measure, there is a red apple in there somewhere!
Lizzy > Oh yeah...forgot to mention the beautiful blue sky and white big fluffy clouds...pretty huh?
Lizzy > O.K. from here we are heading up to Chadron. Just 50+ miles north of us and 200-300 feet higher than our plains, but you are in the beginning of the Black Hills from this point on. The pines you see are either Ponderosa or Austrian.
